The Disappearance of Jaliek Rainwalker

The Disappearance of Jaliek Rainwalker

On a chilly November night in 2007, twelve-year-old Jaliek Rainwalker vanished from a quiet home in Greenwich, New York. The next morning, he was gone — leaving behind only unanswered questions and a family divided by suspicion.

Jaliek’s life before that night had never been easy. Born in 1995, he spent his early childhood in and out of foster homes, searching for a sense of stability and belonging. Those who knew him described him as bright, funny, and imaginative, a child who loved animals, chess, and reading. But behind that spark was a boy who had already endured more hardship than most adults ever will.

When Jaliek was adopted by Stephen Kerr and Jocelyn McDonald, it seemed like a new beginning. Instead, just a year later, his life took a tragic and mysterious turn. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance have left investigators, advocates, and the public searching for truth — and for justice.

More than fifteen years later, Jaliek’s case remains unsolved. His adoptive father, Stephen Kerr, has long been considered a person of interest, and troubling clues — including an anonymous letter full of cryptic phrases — have only deepened the mystery. Yet through every lead and every year that passes, one fact remains: a child is still missing, and someone out there knows what happened.
